Otto Schatz was the son of civil servants and graduated from the Vienna School of Applied Arts in Oskar Strnad and Anton von Kenner.  Schatz has mainly worked as a woodcutter- more than 1500 designs have survived his death.  Commercially also oil paintings and occasionally Erotica emerge.  Schatz was a member of Hagenbud, one of the most progressive artists associations in Austria, and has been honored for such awards as the Great Treasure State Prize in 1925.  (Source: Wikipedia)
